Santa Fe, New Mexico is one of my favorite places to visit. If I had a choice I'd like to live there, at least part of the year, but then there are few artists who would not like to do that. So, I go to visit. I get up at dawn and walk the streets, photographing interesting nooks and crannies especially on Canyon Road. This painting was inspired by one of those photographs. The sun was just barely up and the shadows that were being cast were very interesting.Monitor settings may make a difference in the colors and values
you see. I've adjusted these photos to look as close to the
originals as possible, but I cannot see what is on your monitor.
