The Courtyard of Contrasts

"Alley of Contrasts" - watercolor on #300 paper - 30" h x 22"w

A bubbling fountain in a southwest style courtyard in Santa Fe. In feng shui water equals money or wealth.  Money and symbols of money are always a good addition to anyone's home. The earthy gold tones of the adobe are a good contrast to the blue tile in the fountain and the blue purple shadows. Sunlight plays off the shadows, and the water sparkles.

This wonderful fountain was found in the same area as the inspiration for The Sun Porch, another Santa Fe style painting subject.

Monitor settings may make a difference in the colors and values you see.  I've adjusted these photos to look as close to the originals as possible, but I cannot see what is on your monitor.  There is more information on my FAQ page about monitor settings.
