The spring is the most colorful and exciting time in the Arizona desert. People who have not seen the Sonoran desert often think it must be like Death Valley, CA. It's not at all. The Sonoran desert is very lush, often very green, if given just enough rain. In the spring time the cactus and the wildflowers put on a beautiful presentation for us. I can never resist the call to paint them, beauties that they are, and they seldom disappoint me with their colors.
I often paint the moon in the desert sky, and it's rare that I paint a night sky with the moon. I'm amazed that so many people do not see the moon when it is the the day time sky. Look up! Especially at dawn! Look up! Watch for the moon and be amazed and charmed!
