Ocotillo Dual

watercolor painting of ocotillo in desert landscape 10" x 8"

Ocotillo Dual,  Watercolor painting on 140 lb paper - 10" x 8"

This painting has a companion

This was a painting that was published by a local notecard company a few years ago.  The ocotillo plants grow all over Arizona, except for the very high country.  They have many nicknames that refer to their shapes, buggy whips, mule whips, etc.. I can't imagine someone being desperate enough to grab one of these very thorny plants to whip anything. So these names had to be a joke of some sort.

This painting is not currently matted or framed.

Monitor settings may make a difference in the colors and values you see.  I've adjusted these photos to look as close to the originals as possible, but I cannot see what is on your monitor.  There is more information on my FAQ page about monitor settings.
