The hummingbird is very tiny, and a proud fearless warrior. There is a constant battle for the nectar that gives this bird enough fuel to live. There isn't much sharing, and a whole lot of fighting that goes on. The aloe vera grows in my yard, not just for it's wonderful medicinal properties, but because I want it there for the marvelous red tube blossoms that call to the hummingbird. When the aloe vera blooms, I know that they'll be around and I'll get the pleasure of watching their antics.
