"Where the Bees Go II", acrylic on canvas, 48"h x 12" w x 1 1/2" d
This is another painting that was inspired by a cactus that grows in my yard. I love the flowers. It was happy with it's environment and spent every spring bringing us pleasure. This cactus grew and bloomed. And then grew and grew more, soon we were having to trim it back and then it was too much for the yard and we had to take it all out. However, I had years of painting, photographing and studying the flowers that grew. I watched the bees and the birds make a living off that plant. And, as far as that goes, isn't that what I was doing as well?
When I have this painting out at shows I find that the bees and butterflies are drawn to the color as if the flowers were the real deal.
