Artist Creates Southwest Art in Arizona
Southwest
artist, Barbara Ann Spencer Jump has been
painting for most of her life. Professionally
for the past 20 years. Originally
from Texas, she’s made her home in Arizona for 37 years, and feels “right at
home” with the desert, the mountains, the huge open skies that are a
kaleidoscope of colors at sunrise, sunset and on rainy days.
Barbara Ann’s works of art are also
found in three galleries and a few other venues through out Arizona. Tourists and natives alike enjoy her view of the desert and
life in the southwest.
Her art
work is in private and corporate collections across the nation, and in several
other nations, including England, Japan, Germany, Russia, Italy and Australia.
She travels through out Arizona, California, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico
and sometimes Texas, to show her work in some of the best “juried” art
festivals in the southwest.
This work is not
‘traditional’ southwest. It’s
a very contemporary southwest with clear and bright colors, and subject matter
to make you smile. Barbara paints the
mats as an enhancement to the paintings. Time and again she hears from customers, “You know, I never really
liked southwest art, but I love this!”
She has participated in
art shows with: the Phippen Museum, the Huachuca Art League, Mesa
Center for the Arts, Laguna Gloria Museum, (Austin, Texas), and the
Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix. In addition she has
participated in art festivals held by Scottsdale Celebration of Fine
Art, George Phippen Museum Memorial Show (Prescott, AZ), Tubac
Festival (Tubac, AZ), Southwest Art Festival (Indio, CA), Pecan
Street Festival (Austin, Texas), Grand Canyon National Park, Santa Fe
Festivals, (Santa Fe, NM), Fountain Hills festivals (Fountain Hills,
AZ), Tempe Arizona Festivals, Thunderbird Artists Festivals (Arizona),
Summerlin Arts Festival (NV), Cottonwood Art Festival (Richardson,
TX), and Hidden in the Hills (Carefree/Cave Creek, Arizona), sponsored
by the Sonoran Art League.
Barbara works in watercolor
and acrylic, on paper
and canvas.
She is a prolific artist
and has a lot of original art work in watercolor and acrylic
that are not shown on this site, please contact
her to view those works of art.
This site is an on-line
brochure and catalogue for those who live in places far from Arizona.
It's easier to see the paintings on line than by telephone and US mail!
This is also the easiest way for local clients and customers to keep
track of shows and to know when she has new work. Consider
purchasing
original art work. There are several pieces on this web site
that are reasonably priced and ready to hang in your home or office.
