It's a cold Christmas but the Sanctuary is prepared for the hosting of the Christmas Eve mass. The luminarias, by tradition, light the way for the Christ Child. Maybe this tradition came from Spain, but it's alive and well in the American southwest. These paper lanterns were traditionally made from paper partially filled with sand, lit with a candle and placed along walk and roadways.
